Richa Chadda was born in Patna, Bihar, India, on the 18th of December 1986. Her father, Somesh Chadda, owns a management firm, while her mother, Kusum Chadda, is a professor. During her early life in Delhi, Richa Chadda completed her schooling at Sardar Patel Vidyalaya in 2002. Afterward, she earned a degree in Social Communication Media from Delhi-based St. Stephen’s College. Chadda is also known as the nickname of ‘Miss Fire.’ After education, Chadda wanted to pursue her career in the modeling industry, but she moved in her direction due to her vast interest in theater.

Besides, Richa Chadda worked in various plays in India and Pakistan, and later she spent enough time training by Barry John. For her debut, supporting the role of Dolly in the movie Oye Lucky! Lucky Oye!, Chadda was described as a ‘revelation’ by the host at CNN-IBN. She then performed her excellent acting skills in the comedy movie Benny and Babloo in 2010 as Fedora. Meanwhile, Chadda acted in a Kannada movie, ‘Nirdoshi.’ In 2012, Chadda was cast by renowned director Anurag Kashyap for his crime drama series of films named Gangs Wasseypur 1 & 2, in which she played a critical role for which she was highly acclaimed. 

The series film has become her identity to be recognized as a super-talented actress. After this, her Bollywood career took off as she performed phenomenally in various commended movies such as ‘Fukrey,’ ‘Main Aur Charles, and ‘Sarbjit.’ The character of Bholi Punjaban in Mrighdeep Singh’s directed comedy movie Fukrey gave her a chance to brighten her acting skills and get immense accolades in mainstream cinema. Even the sequel of the same film was the biggest hit, and Chadda was once again highly admired for her outstanding performance.

Next, she appeared in a supporting role in the drama movie ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ which was directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. In the movie, her role as Rasila was incredibly praised, and she successfully earned great recognition. In 2014, Navneet Behal directed ‘Tamanchey’ which was her next appearance in the role of Babu, a criminal.
