He is known among the top most prestigious Bollywood celebrity, also known worldwide due to his mesmerizing appearance and performances in the Indian film industry. This most sought-after B-town actor is also referred to in media with various honor titles like ‘King of Bollywood’, ‘King Khan’, ‘Badshah of Bollywood and ‘Romance King’.

Academic Information & Biodata
Khan was born in a Muslim family, he was in Mangalore in his earlier five years but then he grew up in the Delhi neighborhood named Rajendra Nagar. Khan completed his schooling from St. Columba’s School, situated in Delhi, in school he excelled both in studies and sports. Even at school, he earned the great award of the school ‘The Sword of Honor’. Earlier khan wanted to pursue his career in sports due to immense interest in hockey and football.
However, the injury of his shoulder turned down his interest from sports to acting, and then he took part in various stage plays. To pursue his educational degree khan then enrolled at Hansraj College to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics after that he began with a Master’s Degree in Communication from the University of Delhi.
Whereas, Shahrukh khan left the academic studies in between as he wanted to pursue his career in acting.
Family & Early Life
The parents of Khan were (late) Meer Taj Muhammad Khan (an independence activist/freedom fighter in Peshawar) and mother, (late) Lateef Fatima. Khan narrated (late) Iftikhar Ahmed, his maternal grandfather served on the rank of chief engineer of the port in Mangalore. He further stated that his paternal grandfather, (late) Meer Jan Muhammad Khan was basically from Afghanistan and he was an ethnic Pashtun.
He said his father was a freedom fighter in British India, (present-day Peshawar, Pakistan). His parents were married in the year 1959, khan think of himself half Pathan from father and half Hyderabadi from mother. Khan still has some paternal cousins in Peshawar, Pakistan. Khan has an elder sister named Shahnaz Lalarukh.
Khan got married to Gauri Chibber on 25th October 1991; his wife is a Punjabi Hindu. The couple has three kids, 2 sons and a daughter, elder son named Aryan were born in 1997, then a daughter named Suhana born in 2000, and in the year 2013 they have a third child named Abram.
His Career
However, Khan’s first debut role in the television industry was in serial ‘Dil Dariya’ but due to some reason his first debut serial became ‘Fauji’. After that, he played various leading and important roles in popular television series but in the year 1991 after the death of his mother Khan decided to move Mumbai to make his appearance in Bollywood debut.
He then signed to four films right just he moved to Mumbai although his debut film ‘Deewana’ was released in 1992. It was the gear start movie for Shah Rukh Khan; the film was hit on the box office. During this period Khan was critically acknowledged and praised by both critics and audiences.
Khan was the first-ever actor in Bollywood who was momentously appreciated for his two major box office villainous hits. In the year 1993, Khan played an obsessive lover role in ‘Darr’ which have been a big hit and the other was ‘Baazigarr’ in which he played the role of murderer. Some said that ‘Baazigar’ was the turning point of Khan’s career which directly led him to skies of mesmeric success. He also earned an award for his prodigious villainous performance in the same movie.
The Encyclopedia of Hindi cinema in the year 2003, stated that Khan was the first actor who challenged the image of the conventional hero and set his own example of a revisionist hero. Khan performed in so many movies, the majority of his movies have been hit on box office.
After performing villainous roles, Khan played a romantic role in the year 1995 in the melodrama thriller ‘Karan Arjun’, the super hit movie became the second highest-grossing movie of the year. The movie which has been a trademark of Sharukh khan was directed by Aditya Chopra named ‘Dilwale Dulhanya Le Jayenge’. This movie declared all-time blockbuster by Box office in India and has been the long-running movie in the history of Indian Cinema.

He received Filmfare awards for his biggest hit films which include ‘Baazigar’, ‘Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge’, ‘Dil To Pagal Hai’, ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’, ‘Devdas’, ‘Swades’, ‘Chak De! France government has also awarded Khan their highest civilian honor, “Légion d’honneur” in the year 2014, as well as awarded him “Ordre des Arts et des Lettres” in the year 2007. He also received three honorary doctorates from universities like the University of Bedfordshire (2009), The University of Edinburgh (2015), and The University of Law (2019).
